I don’t have anything against IE or the people who use them. I just don’t understand why people make such a big deal about it. I am so tired of smart-ass answers.

Fine, my site doesn’t display properly with IE. I even have a warning banner for IE users. I’m not about to bust my nuts to make it display properly in IE. I’m not tech-savvy. I could try, but I won’t. I don’t see any point.

The fact is, there are options out there and all we have to do is consider those options. And if you want to view web pages are not supported by IE, there’s always Firefox, Safari, Mozilla, Netscape and Opera.

The fact is, these browsers have been developed for a reason. They are called “advanced” or “modern” browsers compared. I often read concerns like, “My site is not displaying properly in IE.” or “IE is breaking down my codes” or what-not.

It’s obvious that these “modern” browsers are moving on while IE remains sort of stagnant.

For every progress that these so-called modern browsers make, programmers and web designers always have to think of cross-browser compatibility. While they are so far ahead, they always have to slow down and check back to try to make their designs cross-browser compatible with IE. This is mostly, if not always, saying that they have to design that can be displayed properly on IE.

Why? I dare ask! When everyone’s moving forward, IE is staying behind. Why can’t IE developers keep up? This issue has long been discussed and debated and it’s getting old.

I am grateful to everyone who has visited my site who have changed from IE to Firefox or Safari. The percentage of IE use has declined from 78% down to 36%. To me, this is good. And for those who have not made the change yet, all I can say is “What are you waiting for?”

PS.

I just downloaded the Beta Preview of IE7. The new features overview looks promising. Well, these features have been almost standard with other browsers. But I’m glad that IE is finally going towards the same direction. Anyway, let’s see how the new IE fares.
