At 10am, the phone rang. It was my mother. She sang happy birthday on the phone. That’s sweet. We haven’t talked for a while, so I let her go on and on about how she misses me and all that. I do miss her too and my dad and my sisters.

In the middle of the conversation, she told me, “Son, get married.”. And I was like, “Noooooooo!!! That’s out of the question!” Of course, I was gasping for air and was a little freaked out that she said that from out of nowhere. I started laughing. “Mom, you know it will never happen. I like boys now. Just be happy for me.”. “Oh and by the way, I’m single.”. She was so happy about that and chuckled a bit. “Why are you laughing? Can’t you just be happy for me?”. She said, “Oh, I’m sorry sweetie. I’m happy for you. I’m your mom and I’m just wishful thinking. But I do accept you as you are. I was just joking around.”. I said, “Thanks.”.
