Tiger & Snow

I made two friends tonight. After I got back from Washington, D.C., I went out the back door from the kitchen to find these two adorable cats. I don’t know what their names really are. They don’t have any tags. Anyway, I thought I’d call them Tiger and Snow. Tiger is the friendlier one. Not knowing the gender, I would like to follow my instincts and assume that it’s a female cat. She’s got a lovely coat on her. Dark brown with gray stripes. Snow is obviously a white cat. I also assume that it’s a male cat. Why? He was looking out for Tiger, as if guarding her.

Tiger walked towards me as I sat down. Snow followed, but stayed a couple of feet away and sat there, just watching Tiger. It was as if I knew what they wanted. I went back in my kitchen and looked for something that I could give them. Hmmm… I had left over pasta with Italian herbs and tomato sauce. It was the only thing I could give them. I would have given them a can of tuna but I didn’t really like buying those stuff for myself.

Anyway, I transferred the leftover pasta on a plastic container and took it out. Tiger immediately started eating. Snow, on the other hand, seemed not so hungry. Or maybe, he was just being picky. He just sat behind Tiger and watched her eat. Tiger must have really been hungry. She finished half of the food.

I thought, maybe Snow just wanted water. So, I took out another plastic container and put some water in it, took it out and placed it beside the pasta. Snow went closer to check what it was. I guess he didn’t like to drink as well. Nevertheless, it was there for them.

Tiger kept on eating and drinking the water while Snow just sat there. Poor cat. I wish I had something to give him.

After a while, Tiger stretched as if to signal that she’s full. She then walked towards me and looked at me, as if she wanted to express her gratitude.

I couldn’t help but smile. I made two friends tonight. Tiger and Snow.
